Managing Director + Founder
An award winning PR professional with 17 years’ experience in her field, Sunny is known for her entrepreneurial flair and passion for creativity, which her team and clients appreciate and respect. Understanding clients' wants and needs allows her to build brand strategies that deliver tangible business results. Sunny is driven and energetic with bundles of enthusiasm and brings her expertise to each and every account that comes through the Sunny Bird PR doors. Sunny shows as much interest in the success of her client’s business as they do. It is this hands-on, results-driven approach that has helped her gain and maintain an extensive portfolio of clients, regionally, nationally and internationally. She values hard work, loyalty, integrity and above all else a sense of humour.
Louise specialises in marketing, PR and Social Media. With 18 years industry experience in a number of sectors including; B2B, Government, FMCG, Tech and Entrepreneurialism, Louise creates and implements award-winning, multi-channel campaigns for brands whilst managing a team that is set on delivering strong results. Currently working with a variety of clients, offering integrated digital campaigns and managing online communities. Louise loves a full-bodied wine, a big bouncy blow dry and maximum PR results to match.
With 22 years experience in the Design and E-marketing industry, Darren has worked on all aspects of design, from advertising campaigns for IBM, through to being the lead creative on the Tesco own-label toy packaging re-brand. Each project is an opportunity to do some amazing work that connects with the intended audience whilst incorporating a brand’s identity. Darren’s skills have been honed across a diverse range of client sectors including; Calor Gas, Nintendo, Bacardi, Universal Studios, Harbour Hotel Group, Christopher Ward Watches & NBA UK. Darren is the guy with the creative eye and he honestly loves nothing more than editing our selfies on demand. #not

Strong experience on both national and international PR accounts, Lizzie’s can-do attitude and hands-on approach at Sunny Bird PR enable her to create award-winning PR campaigns and strategies for clients. A lover of human interaction, Lizzie’s strengths lie in creative direction, event management and her presentation skills make her a superb communicator. Clients love her for her sharp attention to detail, thinking outside the box, delivery of KPIs and fast and effective problem solving. Keeping abreast of the latest social media algorithms, journalists' movements (in a non-stalky way) and Creative PR Campaigns, Lizzie soaks up the industry like a PR sponge. Exuberant and a lover of puns, Lizzie’s favourite form of communication is interpretive dance.
Freelance Journalist/Media Consultant
Natalie is one of our most trusted media experts and ‘sounding boards’ who is able to provide valuable journalistic insight when it comes to the media. With a wealth of national journalism experience, Natalie specialises in subjects including parenting, family, health, food and relationships. Natalie writes for a plethora of publications including Mail Online, The Sun, The Mirror and numerous other female glossy titles. She is also editor of FQ Magazine, the essential online magazine for dads. She is a regular contributor to The Grocer magazine, one of the UK’s leading trade publications, writing in-depth analysis and features across all aspects of the grocery industry. Natalie also runs a successful blog and has appeared live on ITV's This Morning for topical debates.
Freelance Journalist/Media Consultant
Steph is one of our ‘sounding boards’ and most trusted media experts. She offers Sunny Bird PR a no nonsense approach when it comes to what press want from PR’s and brands in order to feature them. Steph cut her journalistic teeth writing for the Femail section of the Daily Mail where she specialised in human interest features, went undercover at Jamie Oliver’s restaurant and wrote investigative pieces on the trade in human hair for hair extensions and the rise in street begging. She then worked as Deputy Features Editor at Woman & Home magazine before forging a highly successful career as a freelance writer. Steph has written for Red, Cosmopolitan, Grazia, Glamour, Essentials, Woman’s Own, Now, Closer, and many more national titles. Her strengths include strong contacts among the commissioning editors in the industry and sourcing tricky case-studies to the tightest of deadlines. Steph loves bringing strong stories into the public eye, especially those which inspire and motivate. She is also a successful children’s author who has written over thirty titles.
Digital and PR Account Manager
Emma has worked in digital marketing for over eleven years and has a wealth of experience in editorial and copywriting too. She has written for several publications (predominantly in the luxury lifestyle market) and writes for a magazine for Premier League footballers on a regular basis.
Emma has worked with a wide range of clients and brands and enjoys all aspects of client liaison where she always aims to manage and exceed expectations. She prides herself on her positive and proactive approach and is always brimming with energy and a ‘can do’ attitude.
With a passion for all things vintage, you can always find Emma in a vintage dress and outside of the office, Emma’s passion lies in travel, gigs and swing/lindy hop dancing.
Junior Account Manager
After studying PR at Bournemouth University, Georgie’s experience has seen her working on award-winning campaigns for big-name national consumer brands such as Universal Pictures, Warner Brothers, Sky, Ocean Beach Ibiza, Co-op, Homepride and Toshiba. She prides herself on being a media Queen, and likes to know what makes a journalist tick, whether they love writing about women’s issues or are a big fan of gin. Georgie’s strengths lie in getting excellent coverage for our clients and exceeding their expectations at every turn. Plus, she’s our resident Excel nerd, with the most organised To Do list you’ll ever see (conditional formatting, what?).
Junior Account Manager
A multi-media journalist by trade Alex joined the Sunny Bird PR team in autumn 2017 having previously worked for regional newspapers and a variety of event magazines across the south coast. A dab hand at producing clean sharp copy, Alex’s strengths lie in communicating on all levels, whether that’s brainstorming over a cappuccino or creating headline worthy content. She has worked with a range of notable figures from MP’s to celebrities and has even curtseyed for the Queen. Her background means Alex brings with her strong relationships to regional press and businesses as well as a clear understanding of what the media want. Extremely organised, Alex is most at ease with ticked-off to do list and taking a stroll along our award-winning coastline.
Senior Account Executive
Laura is the Events Guru of the office, with a first-class degree and 2 years’ experience working in PR and events. She has worked on a range of PR campaigns, and organised everything from award ceremonies, and festivals to business launches across the South Coast and in London. Laura loves achieving coverage for her clients, becoming part of their brand and making them smile.
In her spare time, you'll most likely find Laura at the beach having a BBQ, or kicking back with a G&T in hand (Conker of course). She is a lover of the sun, taking a bike ride, checking out new restaurants and baking the odd cake! Her passion is food and drink, lifestyle and travel, and she is always on the lookout for exciting locations for her next holiday.
Our account executive, Jess, is a huge lover of words and producing polished copy at lightning speeds. She boasts a BA and Masters in English and Creative Writing from Southampton University so unsurprisingly, is at home with a really good book and a cup of tea (or wine!) On a typical day, you’d find her buried in her ever-expanding notebook collection full of highlighted scribbles and ticked off to-do lists. With a background in trade PR and publishing, Jess enjoys the refreshing and diverse range of foodie and lifestyle accounts that she gets to work with at Sunny Bird PR. Her vibrant, wacky personality bodes well in the world of PR as she gets a great kick out of securing features and creating new media relationships, all whilst singing and dancing her way through the office…
Lu has a degree in PR and is the newest bird to the flock, describing herself as the ‘little one with the big hair’. She has a background in health PR and has also worked in the Events industry. She loves getting results and particularly enjoys creative writing and face-to-face communications. She is a self-proclaimed health, fitness and gym (oh and tea) addict and is currently also studying a Nutritional Science qualification to harness her love of learning about the world of health and nutrition.
Wellbeing Activity Coordinator
Katy is not only a qualified personal trainer but she also has a sound background in nutrition and well-being. She is in charge of team activities, our weekly PT sessions and is always on hand to provide both health and nutritional advice . Some of our physical PT sessions include; team boxing classes (where laughter often drowns out the sound of our boxing gloves) and targeted circuit classes for when we want to take our work out to the next level. I’m sure we don’t need to harp on about endorphins for you to realise we are on to a good thing here…we like to think that a team that trains together, works well together.
With his positive can-do attitude, Louis is an asset to the team when it comes to making newcomers feel welcome. Louis has a wealth of experience in fetching and thrives on being the centre of attention. Always ready for any (treat-rewarded) challenge, Louis is the dog for the job. Louis doesn’t have his own instagram channel as he is way too busy living in the moment. #lovelouis
